To photograph the Kingfisher we sunk a plastic bowl into the lake supported on an electrically controlled arm which allowed us to higher or lower the bowl.  We filled the bowl each day with local small species of fish like minnow, sticklebacks or gudgeon.  The Kingfisher soon found this regular source of food supply and we spent several weeks photographing this bird diving from special positioned props, ,i.e., stumps or branches.  In the winter it produced some very pictorial images of the Kingfisher in hoarfrost conditions.
